Ludvigsen a finance major with a 3.80 cumulative GPA; Burley an exercise science major with a 3.95 cumulative GPA
MACON, Ga. (March 7, 2014) – ETSU track & field student-athletes Lexie Burley (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Anders Ludvigsen (Odense, Denmark) were named Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s and Men’s Indoor Track & Field Scholar Athletes of the Year, the league office announced Friday.
This is the second-consecutive year both student-athletes have landed on the A-Sun Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams and is their first Scholar Athlete of the Year honors.
Burley owns a 3.95 cumulative GPA as an exercise science major working towards her undergraduate degree. The senior had five top-five performances during the indoor season, highlighted by capturing the 2014 Atlantic Sun Indoor Championship in the triple jump with a mark of 12.29 meters.
Ludvigsen owns a 3.80 cumulative GPA as a finance major working towards his undergraduate degree. The senior had two top-five finishes this indoor season, highlighted by a new personal-best time of 14:54.58 in the 5000m run to finish in fifth place at the 2014 Atlantic Sun Indoor Championship.
The A-Sun introduced the new sport-by-sport Academic All-Conference teams in the 2011-12 academic year to recognize student-athletes who embody the conference’s mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better and participated in at least half of their team’s games.
