Delince competes in Day One of NCAA East Preliminaries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 23, 2019) – Sophomore Karon Delince (Phenix City, Ala.) competed in the men’s long jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Fla. on Thursday afternoon, opening regional competition for the Bucs.

Delince finished 22nd with a mark of 7.30m, his second highest mark of the season. The sophomore multisport athlete entered the outdoor season late, competing in just three meets before Thursday’s regional. He will return to ETSU’s football team for the fall season as a defensive back.

ETSU has three athletes left to compete this weekend, starting with senior Kiana Davis (Ooltewah) Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the women’s 200m. Junior Noah Charles (Johnson City) will also run on Friday night with the men’s steeplechase capping the night at 9 p.m.

The final student-athlete to compete for the Blue and Gold at the NCAA East Prelims is sophomore Lindsey Stallworth (Knoxville) in the women’s 5000m.
