Atlantis Warren sets PR in hammer throw on day one

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 8, 2021) – A small contingency of the ETSU track and field team competed in day one of the Tennessee Relays on Thursday evening, the Bucs recording yet another personal record on the outdoor season through Atlantis Warren (Memphis, Tenn.).

Both of the Buccaneers in competition on the evening came in the women’s hammer throw, Warren joined by teammate Margaret Hayden (Ballymore Eustace, Kildare, Ireland). The senior marked a distance of 50.06m, only a foot off of her personal best of 50.40m that she tossed at the Charlotte 49er Classic, setting a school record in the event.

Warren followed just behind her teammate, fighting off two scratches while tossing for a new career mark for the senior, finishing with a 45.61m distance to erase her previous best set just a week ago.

The Bucs are set for a busy final two days, with the full list of entries from the Blue and Gold to be found below. Both Friday and Saturday at the Tennessee Relays are scheduled to be aired on the SECN+.
