BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (May 27, 2022) – The East Tennessee State University men’s and women’s outdoor track and field seasons came to an end Friday night at the NCAA East Preliminary, hosted by Indiana at the Haugh Track & Field Complex.

After watching Miguel Parrilla (Knoxville, Tenn.) compete in the men’s 800m on Wednesday and Genevieve Schwarz (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) run the women’s 1500m on Thursday, Adam Bradtmueller (Sarasota, Fla.) finally had his turn on the track Friday night.

Facing wet and cool conditions, Bradtmueller saw his stellar season come to an end as he finished 34th in the field of 46 runners in the men’s 5000m with a time of 14:10.02. Bradtmueller’s time was his second-fastest mark in the outdoor event and third-quickest in the 5000m between in the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Notre Dame’s Dylan Jacobs set a facility record with a time of 13:38.05, while the last qualifying time was 13:44.42, coming out of the second section.

Bradtmueller, who qualified for his first-ever NCAA Regional with a time of 13:50.51 at the Raleigh Relays, enjoyed an outdoor campaign that saw him win gold in the 1500m at last month’s Southern Conference Championship. The Sarasota, Fla. native also won gold in the 5000m at the conference indoor meet, along with a silver in the 3000m.
