ETSU track and field opens indoor season Friday at VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. (Jan. 12, 2023) – The ETSU men’s and women’s track and field teams gear up for their first meet of the indoor season as the Buccaneers travel north to Virginia for the VMI Invitational, which gets underway Friday afternoon.

Location: VMI Corps Physical Training Facility (Lexington, Va.)

Time: Friday’s meet begins at 1 p.m.; Saturday starts at 10 a.m.

MEET NOTES

  • Friday’s first event on the track is the women’s 60m hurdles, while the first field event scheduled on day one is the men’s weight throw, also being contested at 1 p.m.
  • On Saturday, the men’s mile commences the final day at 10 a.m., with the men’s long jump kickstarting the field events at 10 a.m. as well.
  • ETSU is one of five Division I programs competing this weekend in Lexington … Joining the Bucs and host Keydets is George Mason, Morgan State and Hampton.
  • The Bucs are sending 17 men and 21 women to this weekend’s season-opening meet
  • ETSU is scheduled to compete in 15 events on Friday and at least 18 events on Saturday

UP NEXT

ETSU is back in action next weekend when the Bucs travel to the Music City for the Vanderbilt Invitational, which will be held Jan. 20-21 in Nashville.
