KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 5, 2023) – After competing in North Carolina for its first three meets of the outdoor season, the ETSU men’s and women’s track and field teams stay in state this weekend as the Buccaneers gear up for the Tennessee Invitational, which gets underway Thursday in Knoxville.

Dates: April 6-8
Meet: Tennessee Invitational
Location: Tom Black Track (Knoxville, Tenn.)
Time: The meet gets underway Thursday with women’s hammer at 5 p.m.
Friday’s events start with the heptathlon at 10 a.m., while running events begin at 5 p.m. with women’s 1500m … Friday’s field events get underway with men’s discus at Noon
Saturday begins with the heptathlon at 10:30 a.m., while the first running event begins at Noon with women’s 100m hurdles … Field events also get going at Noon with women’s shot put and men’s high jump

ETSU is scheduled to send 29 athletes to Tennessee this weekend
Fifteen men and 14 women are set to are set to compete this weekend
Sophomore Tya Blake (Lynchburg, Va.) was named Southern Conference Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday … Blake posted a mark of 11.68m in the triple jump last weekend at High Point, resulting in the longest jump by a SoCon athlete this season
Last year in Knoxville, Evan Guzman (Franklin, Tenn.) won the 1500m in the men’s college division race with a time of 3:51.74
