Bucs set for Opener at Scenic City Collegiate

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 19, 2020) – After a much-anticipated wait, the 2020-21 ETSU Men’s Golf season is here. The Bucs, appearing in their first tournament since March 10, will travel to Ooltewah, Tenn., to take on the famous Honors Course in the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate. The tournament will be hosted by Southern Conference foe, Chattanooga. The event will begin on Monday, Sept. 21 and conclude with the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

ETSU Reveals Fall 2020 Men’s Golf Slate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2020) – The season is officially upon us as the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Golf team announced on Thursday that it will compete in a pair of fall events. ETSU will begin the fall season on Monday, Sept. 21 when the Bucs travel to Chattanooga to compete in the Scenic City Collegiate from Sept. 21-22. ETSU will close out the fall season in Carrollton, Texas from Oct. 18-20, competing in the 2020 Maridoe Invitational hosted by North Texas.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2020) – In a season that will go down as one of a kind, ETSU’s cross country and track and field teams took a look back on an unprecedented 2019-20 season last Sunday at their annual awards ceremony.

Meet Sydney Cherney

Johnson City, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2020) — Sydney Cherney (Knoxville, Tenn.) is a sophomore libero/DS on ETSU’s volleyball team. Last season, Cherney played in 29 of the team’s 31 matches. In the back row, she logged 206 digs and 21 assists. She got the first start of her career at the Tennessee Classic against UT, North Dakota State and Georgia Southern. Throughout the weekend, Cherney recorded a 98% reception percentage on serves, totaled 11 assists and 107 digs over the course of three matches to earn Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Meet Emily Arnold

Johnson City, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2020) — Emily Arnold (Louisville, Ky.) is a sophomore setter on ETSU’s volleyball team. Last season, Arnold played and started in all of the team’s 31 matches. She concluded her freshman year with 1,249 assists averaging 10.24 assist per set. The freshman setter recorded 33 aces, 74 kills and 205 digs and had 40+ assists in 18 of her matches. Arnold was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team, the All-SoCon Second Team, logged four SoCon Setter of the Week honors and was named the October SoCon Setter of the Month.

ETSU names Dr. Dawn Turner Senior Associate AD for Compliance/Student-Athlete Welfare

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 4, 2020) — Dr. Dawn Turner has been named ETSU’s new Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance/Student-Athlete Welfare, announced Director of Athletics Scott Carter on Friday.

Holmes Named STATS Perform FCS First Team All-American

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 2, 2020) – For the second time this preseason, Quay Holmes (Powder Springs, Ga.) has been named to an All-American squad. This time, the redshirt-junior was tabbed to the STATS Perform FCS All-America First Team as an all-purpose specialist.

Meet Lauren Hatch

Johnson City, Tenn. (Oct. 13, 2020) — Lauren Hatch (Homewood, Ill.) is a sophomore outside hitter on ETSU’s volleyball team. Last season, Hatch played in 29 of the team’s 31 matches and averaged 3.02 kills/set (10th in the SoCon). She logged 344 kills, 20 aces and 40 blocks. On Nov. 2 against Chattanooga, Hatch tied a program record with 29 kills in a match.
