MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (June 29, 2012) – After landing Atlantic Sun All-Conference honors last month, Matthew Scruggs (Knoxville, Tenn.) added more accolades to his resume as the ETSU outfielder was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-South Region team earlier in June.
MACON, Ga. (June 28, 2012) – More than 65 percent of the student-athletes in the Atlantic Sun Conference posted a 3.0 grade point average or better during the 2011-12 competition season, establishing a new record for academic excellence.
TAMPA, Fla. (June 18, 2012) – ETSU men’s soccer freshman Emmanuel Wilson (Memphis, Tenn.) recorded a hat trick for the Knoxville Soccer Academy on his way to being named a Super-20 League top performer.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (June 16, 2012) – Totaling a personal best 6,976 points in the decathlon on Saturday at the 2012 USA Jr. Outdoor Track and Field Championships, freshman K'Vonte Scott (Virginia Beach, Va.) took fifth place and earned USA Jr. All-American status at Indiana's Robert C. Haugh Track.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (June 15, 2012) – After day one of the 2012 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships, ETSU freshman K’Vonte Scott (Virginia Beach, Va.) sits in fifth place in the men’s decathlon with 3,730 points through the first five sections of the event.

KENNESAW, Ga. (May 18, 2012) – Kennesaw State (31-22, 15-10 A-Sun) broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the bottom of the seventh to knock of ETSU, 6-2, in game two of the series on Friday night at Stillwell Stadium.

(May 5, 2012) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced the members of its first-ever men’s and women’s outdoor track and field Academic All-Conference Teams on Friday, with former Science Hill standouts Jasmine Foster (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Lexie Burley (Johnson City, Tenn.) being voted to the women’s team, and throwers Justin Burton (Bastian, Va.) and Cornell Sneed (Miami, Fla.) landing on the men’s team.

(Nov. 12, 2011) – Despite trailing by 14 points midway through the second half, the ETSU men’s basketball team rallied to within four points late in the game, but ultimately dropped a hard-fought regular season opener to Virginia Tech 64-53 Saturday afternoon at the Cassell Coliseum.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2011) – Redshirt junior David Haba (Germantown, Tenn.) had not scored all season, but netted two goals on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship to push the Bucs past Jacksonville, 2-0, inside Summers-Taylor Stadium.
JOHNSON CITY (Nov. 9, 2011) – ETSU head coach Murry Bartow announced Wednesday the signing of two guards to begin the Buccaneers’ 2012-13 recruiting class. (September 6, 2011) – Leading ETSU to a 2-0 week, including its first ever victory over a top-25 opponent, junior Alesi Osorio (Austin, Texas) and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Coulter (Dublin, Ireland) have been named player of the week and defensive player of the week, respectively, from the league office on Tuesday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (August 27, 2011) – The ETSU volleyball team finished the match with a decisive 31-8 advantage in kills and the Bucs swept North Carolina A&T, 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-14), Saturday on the second day of the UNCG Invitational.

(August 26, 2011) – The ETSU women’s soccer team outshot and outplayed Tennessee Tech for most of the match on Friday night at Summers-Taylor Stadium, but could not come out victorious in a, 2-1, defeat. Ellie Iaciofano put in the go-ahead goal midway through the second half, and the Golden Eagles fought off every chance ETSU put forth through the remainder of the match.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (August 26, 2011) – The ETSU volleyball team salvaged a split by defeating UNC Greensboro, 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-22, 25-21), Friday evening at the UNCG Invitational inside Fleming Gymnasium. The Bucs were defeated by Evansville earlier in the day, 3-1.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 17, 2011) – ETSU sophomore Spencer Lawson (Raleigh, N.C.) has qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship for the second straight year. This year’s U.S. Amateur will take place Aug. 22-28 at Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wis.
CLINTON, S.C. (August 16, 2011) – The ETSU women’s soccer team earned its first victory of the 2011 preseason on Tuesday night, blanking Presbyterian, 2-0. Freshmen Jenna Caudle (Middletown, Md.) and Taylor Maxson (Lewisville, Texas) scored within two minutes of each other midway through the second period, in an exhibition that was played through three 30 minute sessions.
