JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 11, 2014) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Tuesday that it has agreed to a new, multi-year partnership with local restaurant chain East Coast Wings & Grill to serve as the presenting sponsor of the Buccaneer Sports Network beginning with the 2014-15 basketball season.

The Buccaneer Sports Network presented by East Coast Wings & Grill will produce over 70 live radio broadcasts of ETSU men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball, over 90 live audio webcasts of selected Buccaneer events at ETSUBucs.com, 10 television coaches’ shows, and over 50 live or on-demand video broadcasts courtesy of SoConDigitalNetwork.com.

In addition, the Johnson City location of East Coast Wings & Grill at 198 Market Place Blvd., will serve as the host location for the network’s weekly radio coaches shows at 6 p.m. Tuesday evenings throughout the season.

“This is an exciting day for our program and in particular the Buccaneer Sports Network” said ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Richard Sander. “We are extremely thankful to East Coast Wings for their willingness to partner with our network so that we can continue to provide high-quality radio, television and web-based broadcasts for fans of ETSU athletics.”

Along with the Johnson City location, East Coast Wings & Grill also has a location in Kingsport, as well as a future location at The Pinnacle in Bristol.

“On behalf of Greg Hunter, John Hearns, and the entire East Coast Wings & Grill team, we are excited and thankful to have this opportunity to show support for East Tennessee State University,” said Bob Feathers, co-owner of East Coast Wings & Grill. “Dr. Brian Noland, Dr. Richard Sander, Coach Phillip Fulmer, Coach Carl Torbush, Scott Carter and Matt McGahey, and the entire athletic department have become great partners to not just us, but to the region’s broad-based business community. Having this opportunity to be a visible supporter of ETSU is an honor for all of the ECW&G family and we look forward to what the future holds for ETSU athletics and the region. Go Bucs!”

Featuring a flagship radio agreement with WXSM-AM 640 The Sports Monster, and affiliate partnerships with other Cumulus Media stations like WJCW-AM 910 and WGOC-AM 1320, along with television relationships with WJHL Newschannel 11, the Buccaneer Sports Network presented by East Coast Wings & Grill stands poised to continue its growth with the addition of football to the broadcast lineup beginning in the fall of 2015.

“The Buccaneer Sports Network has been a highly successful venture for our program over the last 12 years,” said ETSU Associate Athletic Director for Communications Michael White. “Today’s announcement is a testament to the hard work of our ‘Voice of the Bucs’ Jay Sandos, as well as the many other talented professionals and ETSU students who have contributed to the successes of the network over the last decade. We are appreciative to East Coast Wings & Grill for its support and for helping us to continue to grow the network.”
