SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- East Tennessee State University President Dr. Brian Noland will represent the Southern Conference on the NCAA Division I Board of Directors, with his four-year term beginning after the board’s Aug. 2 meeting.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 23, 2023) -- At a press conference earlier today, East Tennessee State University President Dr. Brian Noland named Dr. Richard “Doc” Sander as the university’s permanent director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Sander had been serving as interim athletic director (AD) since August of last year.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Jan. 19, 2023) -- As ETSU students returned to campus for the spring semester earlier this week, the Southern Conference announced its Fall All-Academic Team on Thursday. ETSU led all schools by landing 57 student-athletes on the academic all-conference team.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 15, 2022) – With the 2022 campaign ending a couple of weeks ago, the ETSU women’s soccer team and head coach Jay Yelton announced the signing of five players during today’s national signing period.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 28, 2022) – On Friday night, the ETSU women’s soccer team went to the wire with the No. 3 seed Mercer in Birmingham, Ala., ending in a penalty shootout. The shootout went in favor of Mercer with the final tally ending 2-3.

(Oct. 28, 2022) – On Friday night, the ETSU women’s soccer team will take on the No. 3 seed Mercer at the Shauna Yelton Field in Birmingham, Ala. in the SoCon Tournament Quarterfinal. Drawing the same matchup as last year’s tournament, the Bucs have the opportunity to advance to the semifinal game for the first time since 2018.

Playing their final game of the regular season, the Bucs end regular season play with a 3-3-3 record in conference play and a 5-6-5 overall mark.
CULLOWHEE, N.C. (Oct. 22, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon, the ETSU women’s soccer team will play its final regular season home game of the year. Playing their third consecutive road game, the Bucs will travel to Cullowhee, N.C. to take on Western Carolina in a matchup that could have a significant impact on the conference standings after this weekend.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Oct. 16, 2022) – The ETSU women’s soccer team battled Chattanooga to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon from the Chattanooga Sports Complex. Unbeaten in six straight games, the Bucs moved to 5-5-5 overall and 3-2-3 in confernce play.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 14, 2022) – On Friday night, the ETSU women’s soccer team battled for 1-1 draw at Samford, behind a last-minute goal by Sinoxolo Cesane (Capetown, South Africa). Going unbeaten in the previous four games, the Bucs moved to 5-5-4 overall and 3-2-2 in conference play.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 13, 2022) – This weekend the ETSU women’s soccer team will play two road games in the SoCon. First, the Bucs will travel to Birmingham, Ala. to take on Samford on Friday night at 7 p.m. On Sunday, ETSU will face off against Chattanooga at 1 p.m. in Chattanooga, Tenn.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 9, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon, the ETSU women’s soccer team played its final regular season game at Summers-Taylor Stadium, completing the comeback and defeating UNC-Greensboro 2-1. With their third straight win, the Bucs improved to 3-2-1 in conference play and 5-5-3 overall.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2022) – Behind goals from Grace Eatz (Roswell, Ga.), Emma Arnold (Bristol, Tenn.) and Taylor Limprevil (Spring Hill, Tenn.), along with a clean sheet by Ashton Blair (Knoxville, Tenn.), the ETSU women’s soccer team blanked VMI, 3-0, on Friday at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 6, 2022) – This weekend, the ETSU women’s soccer team will end its regular season home games for the 2022 campaign. The Bucs will host VMI on Friday night at 6 p.m. and play their final regular season match in Summers-Taylor Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they host UNC-Greensboro at 2 p.m.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Oct. 3, 2022) – It was worth the wait. After Hurricane Ian moved the Buccaneers’ game from Sunday to Monday, the ETSU women’s soccer team was ready for the test as the Blue and Gold secured a 1-0 win over The Citadel on Monday afternoon from Washington Light Infantry Field.
MACON, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2022) – Forced to play with one Buccaneer down for the final 65 minutes, the ETSU women’s soccer team fought for a scoreless draw at Mercer on Thursday night at Betts Stadium.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2022) – With Hurricane Ian looming in the area, the weekend slate of SoCon matches for the women’s soccer team have been rescheduled. ETSU will face Mercer in Macon, Ga. on Thursday night at 6 p.m. The Bucs game against The Citadel has been moved to Monday at 4 p.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 25, 2022) – Following a weather delay that lasted nearly two and a half hours, the ETSU women’s soccer team was unable to find the back of the net as the Buccaneers were blanked by Wofford, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 23, 2022) – On Friday night the ETSU women’s soccer team opened conference play with a 2-1 loss against Furman. Hosting back-to-back games in Summers-Taylor Stadium, the Bucs move to 2-4-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2022) – The ETSU women’s soccer team begins conference play as they host Furman on Friday night at 6 p.m. and wrap up three-straight at home on Sunday when they host Wofford at 2 p.m. in Summers-Taylor Stadium.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2022) – On Thursday night the ETSU women’s soccer team played its final non-conference game of the season, losing to Oklahoma 4-1. Hosting their second consecutive game, the Bucs scored a late goal in Summers-Taylor stadium to move to 2-3-2 on the season.

(Sept. 14, 2022) – After playing a no contest on Sunday evening because of inclement weather, the ETSU women’s soccer team hosts Oklahoma on Thursday night at 6 p.m. inside Summers-Taylor Stadium. Entering the matchup with a 2-2-2 overall record, the Bucs look for their first home win of the season.

BOONE, N.C. (Sept. 8, 2022) – On Thursday night the ETSU women’s soccer team secured its second win of the season, defeating Appalachian State, 3-1. Playing their last match of a five-game road swing, the Bucs scored two goals in less than three minutes to win in Boone, N.C.
BOONE, N.C. (Sept. 7, 2022) – After opening the season 1-2-2, the Bus look for their second win of the season as they travel to Boone, N.C. to take on Appalachian State for the first time since 2014. Set for a 7 p.m. kickoff, the Bucs are playing their fifth consecutive road match before returning home to host four straight.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 3, 2022) – On Friday night, the ETSU women’s soccer team traveled to Nashville, Tenn. and were defeated 6-0 by Vanderbilt. Following the loss, the Bucs move to 1-2-2 on the season.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 2, 2022) – After earning their first win of the season on a last minute game winner on Sunday, the Bucs travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on the 4-0 Vanderbilt on Friday night.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 28, 2022) -- Emma Arnold (Bristol, Tenn.) provided the ETSU women’s soccer team with some late-game heroics as the junior forward scored in the closing seconds en route to lifting the Buccaneers to 1-0 road win at USC Upstate Sunday night at County University Soccer Stadium.

(Aug. 27, 2022) – After a scoreless draw Wednesday night at Presbyterian, the ETSU women’s soccer team travels across border lines to Spartanburg, S.C., to face USC Upstate Sunday evening. Set for 6 p.m. kickoff, the Bucs look for their first win of the season at County University Soccer Stadium.
CLINTON, S.C (Aug. 24, 2022) – In a rainy Wednesday night matchup, the ETSU women’s soccer team battled Presbyterian to scoreless draw from Martin Stadium in Clinton, S.C.

After a draw and a loss in the opening two games, ETSU will look for its first win of the season. Starting their season off 0-2, the Blue Hose will also look for their first win of the season.
LYNCHBURG, Va. (Aug. 21, 2022) – In a Sunday afternoon matchup, the ETSU women’s soccer team traveled to Lynchburg, Va. to face Liberty for their first road game of the season. Facing the ASUN Conference opponent, ETSU gave up two first-half and two second-half goals to end in a 4-0 loss.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 20, 2022) – Following a draw in the season opener, the ETSU women’s soccer team will hit the road for the first time this season as they travel to Lynchburg, Va., to take on Liberty Sunday afternoon in Osborne Stadium. Both squads are looking for their first win of the season as they opened the season with draws.

(Aug. 18, 2022) – In a Thursday night season-opening match-up, the ETSU women’s soccer team was held scoreless in the first half; however, scored two late goals to comeback and force a 2-2 draw against Gardner-Webb in front of 2,022 fans inside Summers-Taylor Stadium. Freshman defender, Aliyah Cooper (Chattanooga, Tenn.) netted her first collegiate goal to open the 2022 goal tally for the Buccaneers. A solo run by junior forward, Emma Arnold (Bristol, Tenn.) knotted the game in the 80th minute.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 17, 2022) – The ETSU women’s soccer team is set to open its 2022 campaign at home for the sixth consecutive season. They will host Gardner-Webb in a Thursday evening matchup at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 11, 2022) – In a release issued by the Southern Conference Thursday afternoon, the Buccaneers’ representative on the 11-women Preseason All-Southern Conference team was sophomore goalkeeper Shu Ohba (Fujisawa, Japan).
COSTA RICA (Aug. 11, 2022) -- ETSU women’s soccer sophomore goalkeeper, Shu Ohba (Fujisawa, Japan) will compete in the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup for Japan in Costa Rica. Japan opens play today against the Netherlands at 4 p.m. EDT.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (July 27, 2022) -- A day after placing 66 student-athletes on the Southern Conference Spring All-Academic Team, ETSU landed 239 student-athletes on the SoCon Honor Roll, as the league office announced the full listing of academic honors on Wednesday.
