(May 23, 2005) - The ETSU softball office has announced the signing of Caitlin Zyskowski (Grand Rapids, Mich.) to a national letter of intent to compete for the Lady Bucs softball squad for the 2005-2006 year. The signing completes the recruiting class for the team as they enter their first season competing in the Atlantic Sun conference....
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. (May 19, 2005) - The Southern Conference era for the East Tennessee State softball team has come to an end as the Lady Bucs will begin play in the highly competitive Atlantic Sun conference for the 2006 season. The 2005 campaign was strong for the ETSU squad, finishing the SoCon regular season with a fourth-place seed heading into tournament play, two spots higher than the projected sixth-place finish in pre-season polls....
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. (May 18, 2005) - Lady Bucs left fielder Janine Sprague (Hillsborough, N.C.) has been selected as a member of the South All-Region Second-Team, the announcement came from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) office today. Sprague led ETSU to a fourth-seed in the 2005 Southern Conference Championship Tournament, and set a new Lady Bucs season-record finishing the season with a .358 batting average through tournament play. The honor is the first in ETSU softball history....

(May 11, 2005) - The Southern Conference announced the 2005 Softball All-Conference teams tonight at the Conference Championship Awards Banquet held at Alahambra Hall Charleston, S.C. where two Lady Bucs garnered All-Conference accolades and Janine Sprague (Hillsborough, N.C.) was honored as the 2005 Southern Conference Player of the Year. Lady Bucs pitcher Courtney Jenkins (Knoxville, Tenn.) captured a spot on the All-Southern Conference Second team, while Sprague's Player of the Year honor gave her a First-Team All-Conference nod. ETSU will complete its final season competing in the Southern Conference at the conclusion of this year's championship tournament....
Mt Pleasant, S.C. (May 8, 2005) - The College of Charleston softball team defeated East Tennessee State, 9-1, to win the Southern Conference regular season title for the second time in three years. With the win, CofC improves to 47-16 overall and 17-4 in conference play. The 47 wins marks the most in regular season wins in Southern Conference history and gives them the top seed in the SoCon tournament. East Tennessee State falls to 25-31 overall and 10-9 in conference play....
Mt Pleasant, S.C. (May 7, 2005) - The ETSU softball squad traveled to face College of Charleston this afternoon in Southern Conference doubleheader action. ETSU captured the nine-inning game one victory 1-0, while the Cougars stole the 7-4 win in game two of the afternoon. (May 5, 2005) - The Lady Bucs softball team will travel to face the College of Charleston Cougars for the final regular season series of the 2005 campaign this weekend in Charleston, S.C. COOKEVILLE, TENN. (April 21, 2005) - The ETSU Lady Bucs softball squad (24-25) halted Tennessee Tech's (23-26) five-game winning streak came to an end in dramatic fashion Thursday afternoon as the Bucs claimed a 5-4 non-conference victory in eight innings after the Golden Eagles had battled back twice to tie the game, including a rally in the bottom of the seventh. Game two however, TTU came determined to start a new streak, as it took until the sixth inning for either team to score, but Tech came up victorious with a 1-0 decision....
