ETSU Softball announces winter clinic information and dates

(Dec. 26, 2007) - Head ETSU softball coach Andrea Mangrum announced Wednesday that the Buccaneers will be holding their second-ever winter softball clinic in January.  This clinic will be broken up into two age group sessions and will feature pitching, catching, and hitting drills, which will be taught by ETSU players and coaches. Please see additional information below regarding location, dates and times. 

 

The clinic, which will be held at The Edge Indoor Facility, will be broken into a 12 and under group and then a 13 and over session.

 

The 12 and under clinic will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. There will be a pitching/catching session that lasts from 9 a.m. to noon, and then a three-hour hitting clinic will follow from 1-4 p.m. The 13 and over clinic will run Saturday, Jan. 26, and follows the same time schedule.

 

There will be a cost of $25 for the pitching/catching session, as well as for the hitting clinic. Please register for the 12 and under clinic by Friday, Jan. 11 and Friday, Jan. 18 for the 13 and over sessions. A non-refundable deposit of $15 is due at the time of the registration date; while the remaining balance can be paid on the day of the clinic if you choose not to pay the entire balance on the day of the registration deadlines. Make all checks payable to ETSU Softball and contact Coach Mangrum for any other details.

 

When filling out the registration form please be aware there are five experience levels for the pitching clinic. It is important that you note the following color on the registration sheet beside the pitching session you are attending:

 

Pink�1 year or less of experience (beginner)

Gray�1-3 years of experience with no private instruction (low intermediate)

Gold�3-5 years of experience with private instruction (high intermediate)

Blue�5 years or more of experience with private instruction (advanced)

 

Every level of pitcher will advance at this camp. All catchers will work together on their skills separately.

 

Driving directions to The Edge

Player's Clinics will be held at The Edge indoor facility. Take the Elizabethton exit off I-26. Turn left at bottom of the ramp onto University Parkway. Turn left at the next light onto South Roan Street. Follow South Roan until you pass a Shell Gas station on your left. Next left turn after gas station will be Cherokee United Methodist Church. Turn into the parking lot and follow to the far side of the church. There will be signs directing you to The Edge Facility
