ETSU softball makes final preparations for 3rd Annual Blue/Gold Game

, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2007) - The ETSU softball team is making final preparations for the 3rd annual Blue/Gold game at Metro Kiwanis Park tomorrow at 11 a.m.

 

            Both teams will have honorary coaches as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance/Student-Athlete Welfare Kirsten Clark will coach the Gold team, while Assistant Dir. of Athletic Media Relations Kevin Brown will manage the Blue team.

 

            The game marks the end of the fall season for the Bucs as they have gone 4-1 thus far this fall. Senior Amanda Haverman (Kirkwood, Mo.), has been hot this fall as she has three home runs and has driven in seven and scored seven runs.

 

        Katy Jett (Talbot, Tenn.), and Briana Knight (Brier, Wash.), are coming off of a great weekend last weekend as the two combined to go 17-31 with eight RBI and 10 runs scored. Freshman Ashley Boyd (Chattanooga, Tenn.) has 16 strikeouts in only 11 innings pitched, and Marissa Hardy (Rocklin, Calif.) struck out six in two innings of work in her last appearance.

 

            The game will include former players including Courtney Jenkins, Stephanie Gaynord, Jessica Losingnger and Allison Burnette. Gaynord was the team MVP last season and is the current single season record holder for homeruns with 11 in 2006.
