JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. The Bucs and Bears will play a doubleheader on Saturday, while wrapping up the series on Sunday. The start times for both days are set for 1 p.m.

GAME THREE (Sunday, April 2) – ETSU vs. Mercer, 1 p.m. – Live Stats

Following the sweep over Presbyterian on Wednesday, the Bucs extended their home win streak to six games while improving to 14-16 on the season … The six-game home win streak is the longest in program history over Division I opponents.

Senior Mykeah Johnson (Cohutta, Ga.) capped off the sweep as her walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Blue and Gold to a 5-4 victory … In the opener, the Bucs defeated the Blue Hose, 3-2, as Quinn Giesick (Bakersfield, Calif.) also etched her name into the ETSU record book … Giesick recorded two triples in the game one win, becoming only the second player in program history to accomplish the feat … The Bakersfield, Calif. native is one of 17 Division I players to hit two triples in one game this season.

Junior Kelsey Chernak (Ooltewah, Tenn.) and freshman Nikki Grupp (Jacksonville, Fla.) carry streaks into this weekend’s series … Chernak has reached base safely in six straight games and Grupp has done so in five consecutive contests.

Senior Danielle Knoetze (San Diego, Calif.) capped off a productive month of March where she hit .415 (22-for-53) with six doubles, five home runs, 15 runs and 13 RBI … The San Diego, Calif. native totaled five multi-hit and four multi-RBI games, while hitting safely in 13 of the 15 games.

ETSU – who picked up a pair of one-run wins on Wednesday – has now its last four one-run games.

As a team, the Bucs are hitting .359 (56-for-156) with 13 doubles, three triples and two home runs during their six-game home win streak … The Blue and Gold are outscoring the opposition, 32-16, while limiting the foes to a .221 (33-for-149) average … Madison Ogle (Maryville, Tenn.) is 3-0 with a 2.90 ERA (8 ER/19.1 IP) and holding opponents to a .250 average in her last three home starts, while seniors Lindsey Fadnek (Coalfield, Tenn.) and Rebecca Wahrmund (Morrilton, Ark.) and freshman Kelly Schmidt (Norcross, Ga.) have not allowed an earned run in 12.2 innings.

At the plate, Giesick is hitting .588 (10-for-17) with two doubles, two triples, five runs and six RBI during this six-game home spurt, while Knoetze also has 10 hits in her last six home games … Knoetze is hitting .476 with four doubles, two home runs, seven runs and seven RBI and Tiffany Laughren (Erwin, Tenn.) is hitting .444 (8-for-18) with two doubles and three walks in the last six home contests for the Bucs.

Mercer opened conference play last weekend and took two of three from Chattanooga en route to improving to 16-20, 2-1.

The Bears are led by senior outfielder Taylor Miller and junior outfielder Meghan Rud … Taylor is hitting .419 (39-for-93) with 28 runs scored, while Rud is hitting .395 (49-for-124) with three doubles, four triples, one home run and 32 runs scored … The duo have also combined for 52 of Mercer’s 81 stolen bases.

Quirisa Mauga, Megan Lane and Abby Walsh provide the power for the Bears as they have combined for 14 of Mercer’s 24 home runs … Mauga and Walsh lead the team with five.

Rud and Miller rank one-two in the SoCon in runs scored and stolen bases, while Mauga leads all players with 33 RBI … Rud also leads the conference in triples.

In the circle, Mercer’s staff features four pitchers with at least three wins … The Bears are led by junior Megan Bilgri as she’s 6-4 with a 2.98 ERA (25 ER/58.2 IP) in 16 appearances (10 starts).

Bilgri leads the SoCon in fewest walks allowed (11) and ranks second in ERA and fewest runs allowed (32).

As a team, Mercer leads the SoCon in hits (274), triples (8) and stolen bases (81), while the Bears rank second behind the Bucs in batting average (.287).

Mercer has played 21 of its first 36 games at home, while the Bears are 5-10 in games played outside of Macon – including an 0-3 mark in true road games.

Mercer leads the all-time series, 17-10, but the Bucs have won five of the last eight meetings – including claiming the last two series wins … Last season, ETSU took two of three from Mercer in Macon, while winning the series in Johnson City in 2015.

Last year, ETSU hit .316 (25-for-79) with four doubles and seven home runs in the three-game series … Malloree Schurr (Montgomery, Texas) went 4-for-8 with one double and three RBI, while Kelsey Smith (Tucson, Ariz.) and Knoetze both hit two home runs in the series … Fadnek went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA (3 ER/14.0 IP) with two complete games.

For her career, Schurr is 8-for-16 with one double, one home run, three runs and six RBI in six games against Mercer, while Taylor Carter (Brazil, Ind.) has reached base 10 times (three doubles, one home run) in nine career games versus the Bears.
