JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 3, 2022) – The East Tennessee State University Athletic Department and Food City announced on Thursday that they have joined forces to help with its annual Race Against Hunger Campaign.
This Saturday, Nov. 5, ETSU student-athletes will be volunteering their time to greet customers and bag groceries at two Johnson City Food City locations. The two locations are the S. Roan Street store as well as the State of Franklin location. Student-athletes from men’s golf, women’s tennis and softball will be at the two locations from 9 a.m.-1 p.m..
Shoppers can contribute any amount to the Race Against Hunger Campaign during their checkout.
The Food City Race Against Hunger Campaign begins Nov. 2 and runs through Nov. 29, where customers are invited to make $1, $3 or $5 contributions during their checkout or round up their total to the next dollar amount. 100% of the proceeds raised will benefit local hunger relief organizations. Approximately four meals are provided for every dollar donated.
