Young earns softball preseason honors

Sophomore infielder named to preseason all-conference second team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb 2, 2023) – A week before the start of the 2023 ETSU softball season, the Southern Conference office announced Cameron Young (Knoxville, Tenn.) to the Preseason All-SoCon second team.

Young started all 56 games a season ago for the Blue and Gold, recording 47 hits while averaging a .297 batting average to lead the way for ETSU. Young stole 14 bases last year, ranking her seventh in the SoCon.

In the preseason polls, the Bucs were picked to finish seventh overall.

ETSU will open its 2023 campaign in Charlotte, N.C. a week from tomorrow on Friday, Feb 10 at 10 a.m. as they take on Campbell in the Charlotte Invitational.
