SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 27, 2023) – After picking up three wins over the weekend at the Wolfpack Classic, ETSU sophomore Sara Muir (Sequatchie, Tenn.) was named Southern Conference Player of the Week, as the league office announced its weekly award on Monday afternoon.

Muir recorded 10 hits, five RBIs and a trio of home runs in the seven games played last week. The Buccaneer first baseman produced a .411 batting average for the week, while being walked on six occasions. Muir recorded an RBI in five of the seven games, while also crossing the plate seven times.

Muir, who collects her first SoCon weekly award, recorded multiple hits in both the 5-1 win and 7-3 win over Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon. In the two victories, Muir combined for six hits.

Currently, Muir ranks in the Top-25 in home runs with five, as she is tied for 22nd with 28 others.

The Bucs will host their first game of 2023 with a 4 p.m. matchup against Appalachian State on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Betty Basler Field.
