Bucs set to host second midweek doubleheader  

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 13, 2023) – On Tuesday afternoon, the ETSU softball team will play their second home doubleheader of the year as they take on Morehead State. With first pitch for game scheduled for 2 p.m., game two will start 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one at Betty Basler Field.

ABOUT THE BUCS

• The Bucs will open a five-game homestand with a 4-16 overall record.
• Leading the team with 24 hits, Riley Nayadley (Ooltewah, Tenn.) is also tied for most RBIs with 11.
• With a team-high 46.2 innings pitched, Brianna Bailey (Wewahitchka, Fla.) has struck out 39 batters and owns a 2.40 ERA.
• The Bucs will open the first of five straight games at home, as they host Eastern Illinois for a three-game series this weekend.

ABOUT MOREHEAD STATE

• The Eagles own a 6-8 overall record and are 1-2 in conference play, dropping a pair of games to Southern Indiana this past weekend.
• Emily Williams leads the team with four home runs, while producing a .308 batting average.
• Madi Ogden has pitched a total of 46.2 innings, striking out 33 batters while posting a 4.05 ERA.

SERIES HISTORY

• The Bucs hold a 13-6 advantage in the all-time series, winning the last four meetings.
• Tuesday will be the first time since 2018 that Morehead State makes the trip to Johnson City, when the Blue and Gold won 4-2 in eight innings.
• Last year’s meetings resulted in a 10-5 and a 6-2 victory for the Bucs at the Red and Black Classic in Boiling Springs, N.C.
