JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 15, 2023) – Following Saturday’s championship game, the Southern Conference released its All-Tournament Team, naming pitcher Brianna Bailey (Wewahitchka, Fla.) and shortstop Riley Nayadley (Ooltewah, Tenn.) to the list.
In Chattanooga, the right-handed pitcher started all four games in the tournament for the Bucs, pitching in 26.0 innings and picking up a pair of elimination game wins against Furman and Western Carolina Thursday afternoon. The Florida native struck out 16 batters while throwing over 400 pitches throughout the tournament.
Making all four starts at shortstop, Nayadley also made the SoCon all-tournament team following a seven-hit performance over last week’s tournament. Nayadley recorded multiple hits in three of the four games with a pair of doubles, batting in three runs for the Blue & Gold. In Thursday’s 6-4 elimination game win against Furman, the Tennessee native recorded a pair of hits adding in an RBI in the process.
