2003 Season: Played an instrumental role in guiding ETSU to its first-ever Southern Conference tournament championship game, and earned all-tournament recognition … was a second-team All-SoCon selection as well as the team’s MVP … went 14-10 as the team’s ace, spending 178.1 innings on the mound … set single-season records after leading the Bucs in ERA (2.36), opposing batting average (.247), and shutouts (5), on top of leading the team in strikeouts (83), and saves (5) … McVay was again patient at the plate, accepting 22 walks … she also scored 23 runs and was 10-11 in the stolen base category … when she wasn’t pitching, McVay was playing the middle infield, primarily second base … she finished the season with 127 assists, 73 putouts, and just seven errors, equaling an impressive .966 fielding percentage … also named to the all-tournament team at Western Kentucky’s Big Red Blast tournament ... 2002 Season: McVay was one of five players to play in all 57 games and was one of three Buccaneers to start in every outing … saw time at shortstop, in the outfield as well as on the mound … continued to prove why she is one of the premier all-around athletes in the Southern Conference … tied for third on the team with a .268 batting average … led the team in at-bats (179), runs (32), hits (48), total bases (24) and stolen bases (16) … tied for second on the team with nine doubles, six home runs, a .430 slugging percentage and a .358 on-base percentage … was named Southern Conference Player-of-the-Week for her performance in the University of Georgia Bulldog Invitational …McVay was on fire in ETSU’s six games in the tournament, hitting .529 with nine hits in 17 at bats, including two doubles and a home run … she also knocked in three runs and stole four bases in four attempts while racking up a .824 slugging percentage and a .619 on-base percentage … on the mound, McVay appeared in 21 games, and ranked second on the team with a 3.50 ERA … she compiled an 8-10 record with 13 complete games … she pitched 114 innings, allowing 137 hits, striking out 55 opposing batters ... 2001 Season: McVay led the team in every major pitching category ... finished second in the Southern Conference in innings pitched (202.1), second in games started (29), fourth in appearances (34), fifth in strikeouts (106) and eighth in wins (11) ... pitched in 34 of the 49 ETSU games last season, and had 25 complete games with three shutouts ... won Southern Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week honors on April 4 after going 3-0 on the week with two shutouts ... was equally as dangerous at the plate ... led the team with a .308 batting average, 20 runs scored, 44 hits, 59 total bases and 11 stolen bases ... also led the team in on-base percentage, while finishing ninth in the conference, reaching base at a .381 clip ... High School: Tiffany played for Clifford Kirk at Soddy-Daisy High School ... she earned 10 varsity letters in high school: four in softball, three in basketball, two in volleyball and one in soccer ... she was a member of back-to-back state championship teams at Soddy-Daisy ...
