2011 Season
Named Atlantic Sun All-Academic and Atlantic Sun Conference Scholar-Athlete … missed the first 16 games of the season due to injury … started 28 of the 30 games she played in (26 starts at first) … registered a pair of multi-hit games and hit safely in five consecutive games … went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI in the 10-2 win over Belmont on 3/27 inside Betty Basler Field … also had a 2-hit effort in the win over North Carolina A&T … reached base safely in six straight games from 3/12-21.
2010 Season
Played in 41 games (starting 38) … made 35 starts at first and three at third … recorded first collegiate hit and RBI at Charlotte on 2/14 … posted five multi-hit games – including a perfect 3-for-3 effort vs. Temple on 2/21 … belted first-ever home run vs. Eastern Illinois (2/20) … went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs against Central Connecticut State on Feb. 26 … smashed a three-run home run in the win over Belmont on 3/27.
About Garner
Is a versatile player who can step in and help ETSU in many areas as she has played third, short, first and pitched at both Bremen and Central high schools … hit .422 and posted a perfect fielding percentage, along with going 22-3 with a 1.78 ERA in the circle in 2008 … during her freshman year at Bremen High School, Garner was the Blue Devils’ starting shortstop and number two pitcher … named Most Valuable Offensive Player as a sophomore, and at the end of her junior year she was tabbed First Team All-Region, West Georgia Newcomer of the Year, and Second Team All-State … selected Player of the Year in Carroll County as a senior.
