Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina women's volleyball lost a disappointing match 2-3 to Southern Conference opponent East Tennessee State Oct. 13 in the Ramsey Center.
Western Carolina took control of the second game, after falling 8-15 in the first, by jumping out with the lead and finishing off the Lady Bucs 15-2. In a close third game ETSU triumphed over Western despite the fact that Western recorded 20 kills as a team.
Junior Christy Attebery led the Cats offensively to roll past the Bucs in game four 15-3. The rally scoring fifth match was more of a challenge for WCU as they lost a hard fought 13-15.
ETSU's Amber Ciskowski led her team with 17 kills and 18 digs while seniors Courtney Sussillo and Jena Policastro added 13 and 10 kills respectively.
Western Carolina falls to 8-11 overall and 6-4 in league play while ETSU improves to 11-6 and 8-3.
