JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2008) - The ETSU volleyball team is set to take on conference opponents North Florida (Friday 7 p.m.) and Jacksonville (Saturday 5 p.m.) this weekend as the Bucs look to secure a spot in the conference tournament.
The Bucs (8-15, 5-9 A-Sun) come into the weekend having dropped two of their last three matches. ETSU lost a heartbreaker to Western Carolina, 3-2, on Tuesday and were swept by Florida Gulf Coast, while on the flip side, the Bucs defeated Stetson, 3-1. The Bucs were defeated by the Dolphins, 3-1, on Sept. 19, but swept the Ospreys who were leading the league on Sept. 20.
North Florida (8-13, 6-8 A-Sun) is currently on a six game losing streak. The Ospreys were defeated by Jacksonville on Tuesday, 3-1, after dropping both matches last weekend to Belmont and Lipscomb. ETSU is 4-1 all-time against North Florida.
Jacksonville (14-8, 9-5 A-Sun) has won four of its last five matches. The Dolphins swept Campbell and Belmont, and defeated North Florida and Seattle. Jacksonville has a 4-3 edge in the series.
