NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2014) – A week after being named “Best Blocker” at the Patriot Invitational, ETSU senior middle blocker Meredith Hardy (Kingsport, Tenn.) received Lipscomb Invitational All-Tournament Team honors, which was announced late Saturday night by the tournament committee.

Hardy finished with 20 kills, 13 blocks and nine digs in the three matches for the Buccaneers, while also recording a personal milestone against Utah on Friday night. The Kingsport, Tenn. native notched her 1,000th career kill against the Utes.

After hitting .636 (7-0-11) in the four-set loss to Lipscomb, Hardy wrapped up the weekend with 10 kills, eight blocks and three digs in the five-set win over Georgia Tech. Overall, Hardy has registered at least one block in 103 straight matches, while she inched closer to breaking ETSU’s all-time blocks record. Following the weekend, Hardy now needs 15 blocks to break Jennifer Pennington’s (1993-96) mark of 537.

Hardy and the Bucs return back to the Music City on Tuesday night as ETSU takes on Tennessee State at 7 p.m. EDT.
