RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 21, 2014) – For the third straight week, ETSU middle block Meredith Hardy (Kingsport, Tenn.) received all-tournament team honors.

After picking up “Best Blocker” accolades at the Patriot Invitational and being selected to the Lipscomb Invitational All-Tournament Team last weekend, Hardy added a third honor to her resume late Saturday night as the preseason all-conference member was named to the VCU Invitational All-Tournament Team.

For the weekend, Hardy registered 25 kills, seven digs, five blocks and two service aces in three matches in Richmond.

Hardy began the tournament with 11 kills and hit .276 in the four-set loss to Ball State, while ending the weekend with eight kills and three blocks in the four-setter to Virginia. The Kingsport, Tenn. also hit .375 (8-2-16) against the Cavaliers.

After recording at least one block in each of the three matches this weekend, Hardy has now posted at least one block in 107 consecutive matches. Furthermore, Hardy is only 10 blocks shy of breaking ETSU’s all-time blocks record.

Hardy and the Bucs return to action Tuesday night as ETSU hosts Furman in its home and season opener. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Brooks Gym.
