JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 1, 2014) – Each week during the season, members of the ETSU volleyball team will be featured in a "Q&A" segment on ETSUBucs.com.

The next student-athlete profile is junior middle blocker Khadijah Wiley (Columbus, Ga.). Wiley, a 2012 Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team selection, has compiled 467 career kills and 309 blocks in 79 career matches for the Buccaneers. The Columbus, Ga. native has also recorded at least one block in 48 straight matches.

During the preseason, the players came up with the questions, which can be found below, and each of them submitted their answers. Below are the responses by Wiley: 

If you could witness any event (past or present) what would it be? Why?

I would want to witness the Martin Luther King “I Have a Dream Speech!” I have always wanted to be there in that moment.

What is your favorite thing to do off the court with your teammates?

Dinner and a movie 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would go to the Bahamas! I love the peace and quiet a beach gives you, along with seclusion and serenity.

What is a non-athletic accomplishment that you are most proud of?

Getting baptized by my family church.

Who is the best dancer on the team?

Has to be me or Merf (Meredith Hardy)… We both like to get down!

What is your favorite quote?

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."  - Gandhi

What is something that not many people know about you?

I have a fake tooth.

What movie can you watch over and over and never get tired of?

“Love and basketball” 

If you could have hung out with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?

Beyoncé, because who wouldn't want hang out with Beyoncé! It's Beyoncé!

If you could pick any profession in life (regardless of education, money, judgment, or training) what would it be? What's stopping you?

Coaching volleyball or basketball 

What do you think is an important rule to live by?

Believe in yourself 

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

Christmas, because that's when all my family gets together and there is a ton of food and all my little cousins get to open their presents. I love to see the look of excitement on their faces. 

What are the top three things on your bucket list?

1) Make sure my parents are taken care of and have no worries

2) Travel the world and expand my knowledge on other countries 

3) Do what I want to do in life for me and not anybody else 

What is a talent you don't have that you wish you did?

To be able to draw 

What is one piece of advice you would give a young athlete who aspires to be a college athlete?

It's going to be tough, but if you know what you want, the only person that can stop you is YOU! 

If you had not pursued volleyball, which sport would you have pursued, and why?

Basketball, because it was my first love. I always dreamed of being in the WNBA! 

Wiley and the Bucs return to action Friday night when ETSU hosts UNCG in Southern Conference action. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside Brooks Gym.
