JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 22, 2014) – Each week during the season, members of the ETSU volleyball team will be featured in a "Q&A" segment on ETSUBucs.com.
The next student-athlete profile is senior Meredith Hardy (Kingsport, Tenn.). Hardy, a two-time First Team All-Atlantic Sun selection, is the ETSU and the A-Sun career record holder for blocks. The Buccaneer middle blocker has registered at least one block in 117 straight matches and was tabbed SoCon Defensive Player of the Month for September. Prior to Tuesday’s win over The Citadel, Hardy recorded 581 career blocks, which ranks second among active NCAA Division I Players. Last season, Hardy was also tabbed A-Sun Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
During the preseason, the players came up with the questions, which can be found below, and each of them submitted their answers. Below are the responses by Hardy:
If you could witness any event (past or present) what would it be?
Apollo 11 landing on the moon
What is your favorite thing to do off the court with your teammates?
Dance parties in the parking lot before practice
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
New Zealand because it looks gorgeous!
What is a non-athletic accomplishment that you are most proud of?
I was a part of BUDS (Buddies Understanding Different Students) in high school which is a peer tutoring program for mentally handicapped students.

Christmas = Cinnamon rolls and family
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
1) I want to learn how to surf
2) I want to live in a foreign country for at least a year
3) I want a pet elephant
What is a talent you don't have that you wish you did?
I wish I could sing!
What is one piece of advice you would give a young athlete who aspires to be a college athlete?
Go for it! Find ways to set yourself apart from everyone else and have confidence that you'll get there.
If you had not pursued volleyball, which sport would you have pursued, and why?
I would want to do trampoline. Because who wouldn't want to do trampoline!
Hardy and the Bucs take their three-match win streak on the road as ETSU plays at league-leading Samford Friday night. First serve is set for 8 p.m. Eastern inside Pete Hanna Center.
