JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 11, 2014) – Throughout the year, members of the ETSU volleyball team will be featured in a "Q&A" segment on ETSUBucs.com.
Our next student-athlete profile is senior Eryn Samuels (Tampa, Fla.).
During the preseason, the players came up with the questions, which can be found below, and each of them submitted their answers. Below are the responses by Samuels:
If you could witness any event (past or present) what would it be?
Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
What is your favorite thing to do off the court with your teammates?
Go out to dinner or watch movies at someone’s apartment.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Greece, I’ve always thought it was beautiful, the water is so clear and everything looks so peaceful.
What is a non-athletic accomplishment that you are most proud of?
Placing for acting as Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog in a state competition in high school.
Who is the best dancer on the team?
Katie (Muey), because she does whatever she wants when she hears the music.
What is your favorite quote?
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams”
What is something that not many people know about you?
I hate doing my hair.
What movie can you watch over and over and never get tired of?
“Gone With the Wind”
If you could have hung out with anyone dead or alive who would it be?
Jesus Christ
If you could pick any profession in life (regardless of education, money, judgment, or training) what would it be?
Public Relations/Marketing Specialist for the NBA.
What do you think is an important rule to live by?
Don’t compare your life to someone else.
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Christmas… There’s always an amazing atmosphere around Christmas time.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
1) Write a book
2) Go skydiving
3) Record a song I have written
What is a talent you don't have that you wish you did?
I really wish I could paint (or was at least good at it)
What is one piece of advice you would give a young athlete who aspires to be a college athlete?
It is worth all of the hard work… never give up.
If you had not pursued volleyball, which sport would you have pursued, and why?
Track and Field… I love running, and was really good at high jump.
