SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 30, 2017) – With the completion of the spring seasons of league competition, the ETSU men’s programs were awarded its second-straight Southern Conference Commissioner’s Cup, which is the all-sport trophy that is presented to the conference’s best all-around men’s program.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 4, 2017) – The National Collegiate Athletics Association announced the 2017 Public Recognition Awards this week with four East Tennessee State teams earning the special public recognition.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 5, 2017) – On Tuesday, April 11th, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will launch a special day of giving in support of Buccaneer student-athletes.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 4, 2017) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host its annual “BIG Buccaneer Bash” Excellence Fund Auction in support of the program’s student-athletes this Saturday evening, April 8th at the ETSU/Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 9, 2017) – During a gathering inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletics Center Thursday afternoon, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics unveiled innovative fund-raising initiatives aimed at improving facilities and developing new resources that will provide opportunities for student-athletes throughout the Buccaneers program.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (January 17, 2017) – The Southern Conference on Tuesday announced its Fall Academic All-Conference team with 45 ETSU student-athletes receiving academic all-conference recognition.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 21, 2016) – After the conclusion of the Southern Conference Tournament Championship game on Monday, the all-tournament team was announced with junior Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) earning the all-tournament recognition.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 20, 2016) – A record setting 2016 season came to an end for ETSU volleyball on Sunday afternoon as the Buccaneers for just the second time this season was swept by Samford in the Southern Conference Tournament Semifinals.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 19, 2016) – A season-high 15 blocks propelled the ETSU volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-21,26-24) victory over No.4 seed Furman in the Southern Conference Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon inside the Pete Hanna Center.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (November 18, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team heads to Birmingham, Ala. as the No.1 seed in the 2016 Southern Conference Tournament this weekend. The Bucs will face the winner of the tournament’s opening match between the No.8 seed Furman and the No.9 seed The Citadel on Saturday, Nov.19 at 3:30 p.m.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (November 16, 2016) – Senior Briana Allmon (Flower Mound, Texas) was named Southern Conference Player of the Year and the ETSU Volleyball team had three Buccaneers earn all-conference honors as the league office announced its postseason awards on Wednesday. Head coach Lindsey Devine was named SoCon Coach of the Year.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (November 15, 2016) – ETSU head coach Lindsey Devine and her staff announced the addition of Alex Sherles (Oak Ridge, Tenn.), Kalee Vanderhorst (Raleigh, N.C.) and Lexie Libs (Clarksville, Ind.) to the Bucs’2017 recruiting class.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 13, 2016) – ETSU men’s golf head coach Fred Warren and junior volleyball standout Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) spent time volunteering at the Washington County Humane Society’s National Adoption Weekend event on Sunday afternoon at PetSmart in Johnson City.
MACON, Ga. (November 12, 2016) – The 2016-17 ETSU volleyball team is the Southern Conference regular season champions after sweeping the Mercer Bears (25-18, 25-23, 25-22) on Saturday afternoon inside Hawkins Arena.
Charleston, S.C. (November 11, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team will at least earn a share of the Southern Conference regular season title after sweeping The Citadel (25-17, 25-19, 25-18) on Friday night inside McAlister Fieldhouse.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (November 10, 2016) – Heading into the final weekend of the regular season the ETSU Volleyball team looks to stay atop the Southern Conference standings as the Buccaneers hit the road to take on The Citadel on Friday, November 11 followed by Mercer on Saturday, November 12.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (November 8, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team recorded their 11th victory inside Brooks Gym this season with a four-set win over Furman (26-28, 25-12, 25-17, 25-17) on Tuesday night to finish undefeated at home for the first time in program history.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (November 7, 2016) – For the final time this season the ETSU volleyball team will compete inside Brooks Gym on Tuesday night as the Buccaneers host Furman on Tuesday, November 7 at 6:00 p.m. The match will be streamed on ESPN3.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 4, 2016) – The Brooks Gym magic continues as the ETSU volleyball team has won 19 straight sets at home after defeating Samford (25-18, 25-20, 25-19) on Friday night.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (November 2, 2016) – On Wednesday the Southern Conference announced that ETSU volleyball’s Briana Allmon (Flower Mound, Texas) has been named Offensive Player of the Month for the month of October.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (October 29, 2016) – The ETSU Volleyball team saw their eight game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the Spartans of UNCG defeated the Bucs in four sets (25-17, 18-25, 17-25, 23-25) in Greensboro, N.C.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 28, 2016) – It was a battle between ETSU volleyball and Wofford on Friday night inside Brooks Gym as the Buccaneers were able to come away with the 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) victory for their eighth straight win.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 27, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team will look to continue its winning ways this weekend as the Buccaneers look to remain perfect at home and extend their season-long seven game winning streak with a pair of conference matches.

CULLOWHEE, N.C. (October 15, 2016) – For the fifth straight game the ETSU volleyball team came away victorious as the Buccaneers defeated Western Carolina (25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 25-12) inside the Ramsey Center on Saturday night.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 14, 2016) – Fresh off its three-set win over Chattanooga on Wednesday, the ETSU volleyball team remained red-hot, as the Bucs cruised to their fourth straight win after sweeping Wofford in straight sets on Friday night inside Benjamin Johnson Arena.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2016) – The Chattanooga volleyball team entered Brooks Gym Wednesday evening atop the Southern Conference standings. They left tied with the ETSU Buccaneers.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 11, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team continues Southern Conference action this week with three matches. The Bucs will host rival Chattanooga (Oct.12) at 6:00 p.m. before hitting the road for a pair at Wofford (Oct.14) and at Western Carolina (Oct.15).

(Oct. 7, 2016) – Senior Briana Allmon (Flower Mound, Texas) finished with a career-high 28 kills, while junior Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) collected her 20th career double-double (14 kills/16 digs) as ETSU volleyball outlasted Western Carolina, 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 29-27, 21-25, 15-8), on Friday night inside Brooks Gym.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 6, 2016) – Returning home for the first time since Aug.27, the ETSU volleyball team will host a pair of SoCon matches this weekend beginning on Friday, Oct.7 as the Bucs take on Western Carolina at 7:00 p.m.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (October 5, 2016) – The Southern Conference announced on Wednesday that sophomore AJ Lux (Shelbyville, Ind.) has been named SoCon Offensive Player of the Month for September.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Sept. 30, 2016) – Despite a 21-kill, 15-dig performance from senior Briana Allmon (Flower Mound, Texas), the ETSU volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Chattanooga Friday evening at Maclellan Gym (26-28, 25-23, 25-21, 25-20). The loss moves ETSU’s record to 9-6 overall and 1-2 in Southern Conference action.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2016) - The ETSU volleyball team will close out a three-match road swing to begin conference play Friday evening as it takes on in-state rival Chattanooga. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. from Maclellan Gym.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 24, 2016) – A day after dropping a five-set match in its conference opener to Furman, the ETSU volleyball team rebounded to win a five-set tilt at Samford Saturday evening (25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 21-25, 15-9). The win is the first for the Bucs in the SoCon as well as the first 3-2 victory for the team since last season’s conference tournament.
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 23, 2016) – Despite winning two of the first three sets in its conference-opening match at Furman Friday evening, the ETSU volleyball team fell to the Paladins by a score of 3-2 (25-27, 25-18, 17-25, 30-28, 15-11). The loss moves ETSU’s record to 8-5, while Furman improves to 5-8 with the victory.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2016) - The ETSU volleyball team will lift the lid on its SoCon schedule this weekend with a pair of road matches. ETSU will open the weekend with a match at Furman before traveling to Alabama for the second time in as many weeks to take Samford on Saturday. First serve for the matches are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Sept. 17, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team wrapped up the Crimson-White Tournament with a 3-0 sweep over Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon (25-18, 25-16, 32-30). The victory closes out the non-conference slate for ETSU as it finishes that portion of its schedule with an 8-4 record.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Sept. 16, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team opened the Crimson-White Tournament with a 1-1 record Friday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. ETSU began the day with a 3-0 win over Presbyterian (25-17, 25-16, 25-18) before falling to Alabama in a competitive contest, 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 25-18).
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2016) - The ETSU volleyball team will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule this weekend with three matches at the Crimson-White Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
CLEMSON, S.C. (Sept. 10, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team closed out the Clemson Classic with a 3-0 loss to Tulane Saturday evening at Jervey Gym (25-19, 25-22, 25-23). With the loss, the Bucs’ record moves to 6-3 this season, while the Green Wave improve to 6-3 with the victory.
CLEMSON, S.C. (Sept. 9, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team played in a pair of highly competitive matches Friday in the opening day of the Clemson Classic but it ended up on the losing side of both contests against Clemson (25-18, 25-17, 26-28, 16-25, 15-13) and North Dakota (25-16, 27-29, 19-25, 25-20, 15-10) by identical 3-2 final scores.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 8, 2016) - The ETSU volleyball team will travel to Clemson, S.C. to compete in the Clemson Classic this weekend. ETSU will open the Classic with matchups against Clemson (1:30 p.m.) and North Dakota (4:30 p.m.) on Friday before wrapping up the weekend with a 7 p.m. match against Tulane Saturday.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2016) – The Buccaneer Sports Network released its first episode of “Buc Update Central” on Wednesday.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 5, 2016) – ETSU volleyball player Kaela Massey (Brentwood, Tenn.) was named the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week Monday by the league office. It is the second straight week that an ETSU player has been honored by the SoCon with the first being Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) (Offensive Player of the Week).
LYNCHBURG, Va. (Sept. 3, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team continued its stellar play Saturday as it picked up two more victories over USC Upstate (3-1) and Liberty (3-0) to wrap up the Liberty Invitational. With the pair of wins, the Bucs have not only won back-to-back tournament championships but they have also tied a program record for the best six-match start to any season in program history (6-0).
LYNCHBURG, Va. (Sept. 2, 2016) – Led by a career-day from sophomore AJ Lux (Shelbyville, Ind.) , the ETSU volleyball team picked up its fourth straight victory to begin the season as it swept Hampton, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-16) Friday in Lynchburg, Virginia. With the win, the Bucs improve to 4-0 for just the third time in program history and the first since the 1987 season.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 1, 2016) - The ETSU volleyball team will hit the road for the first time this season as it travels to Lynchburg, Va. to compete in the Liberty Invitational this weekend. The Bucs (3-0) will begin the tournament with a matchup with Hampton at 4:30 p.m. Friday before closing out the tournament with matches against USC Upstate (10 a.m.) and Liberty (7 p.m.) on Saturday.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (August 29, 2016) – ETSU volleyball player Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week Monday by the league office. It marks the first time in her collegiate career that Milhorn has earned a player of the week award.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 27, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team picked up two more 3-0 sweeps on day two of the DoubleTree Hotel Buccaneer Challenge Saturday afternoon at Brooks Gym. The pair of victories, which were over Troy and USC Upstate, not only captured the tournament championship for the Bucs but it also gave them their first 3-0 start since 2012.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 26, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team started the 2016 season about as well as a team can Friday evening as it swept Austin Peay by a 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-16) score at Brooks Gym. With the win over the Governors, the Bucs have now won two of their last three season openers.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 25, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team will open its 2016 season this weekend as it hosts the DoubleTree Hotel Buccaneer Challenge at Brooks Gym. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 21, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team will be hosting its annual Blue/Gold scrimmage Monday evening in Brooks Gym. The doors will open at 5 p.m. with the scrimmage beginning at 5:30 p.m.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 15, 2016) – Briana Allmon (Flower Mound, Texas) and Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) were named to the Preseason All-SoCon team Monday morning as the league office unveiled its Preseason Coaches’ Poll along with the Preseason All-SoCon squads. Additionally, the Bucs were picked to finish tied for fifth in the league with Wofford.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 10, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team officially opened its 2016 season Tuesday as it held its first official practice of the new season inside Brooks Gym. The Bucs, who went 19-12 overall and 9-7 in the SoCon in 2015, will have 17 days to prepare for their first match of the season against Austin Peay on Aug. 26.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 8, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball team released its 2016 schedule on Monday. The 28-match slate includes 11 matches inside Brooks Gym and tilts against Alabama and Clemson. In addition, the Bucs will also host their first tournament since 2011 on Aug. 26-27 when they welcome Austin Peay, USC Upstate and Troy for the season-opening Double Tree Hotel Buccaneer Challenge.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 27, 2016) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Monday that ETSU was one of 762 teams that earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2015-2016 season. It marks the seventh consecutive season that the Bucs earned this accolade.
