Bucs Set Program Record with 262 Student-Athletes on SoCon Honor Roll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 25, 2020) – It was another record-setting day for ETSU Athletics, this time thanks to the Southern Conference Honor Roll. The Bucs placed 262 student-athletes on the 2019-20 SoCon Honor Roll, blowing by the program’s previous record of 229 set in 2017-18. The SoCon office released the Honor Roll on Thursday morning.

(Nov. 22, 2019) — The second-seeded ETSU Volleyball team begin play in the Southern Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon and defeated the No. 7 UNCG Spartans 3-1 (25-13, 25-18, 31-29, 25-16) behind a huge offensive performance from the team. Lundyn Coffman (Nolensville, Tenn.) dominated the floor with a .765 attack clip, the best by a Buc in three years and third-best in program history.

Cunningham Named SoCon Freshman of the Year

Jacksonville, Ala. (Sept. 1, 2019) After an impressive 3-0 record this weekend at the Jacksonville State Invitational, the ETSU volleyball team had three players named to the all-tournament team. Kaela Massey (Brentwood, Tenn.) was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, Emily Arnold (Louisville, Ky.) and Marija Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia) were also named to the All-Tournament Team.


Volleyball Defeats Troy and Improves to 3-0

Jacksonville, Ala. (Aug. 30, 2019) – The ETSU volleyball team completed competition at the Jacksonville State Invitational with a 3-1 win over Troy University (23-25, 25-19, 25-9, 26-24). The Blue and Gold fell behind after the first set, but prevailed to take the next three and ultimately come behind in the fourth frame to win the match.


Volleyball Sweeps Day One of Jacksonville State Invite

(Aug. 30, 2019) – The ETSU volleyball team began their 2019 campaign with back-to-back victories at the Jacksonville State Invitational by taking down Jacksonville State (3-1) and Southeastern Louisiana (3-0). Volleyball Falls to Appalachian State in Five-Set Exhibition

Boone, N.C. (Aug. 23, 2019) – The ETSU volleyball team fell to the Appalachian State Mountaineers 3-2 (21-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13) in their exhibition on Friday night. The Bucs hit above .300 in the first two sets and had nine aces throughout the match.


Popovic Earns Preseason All-Socon for the Second Straight Year

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 22, 2019) – The defending two-time Southern Conference Libero of the Year, Marija Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia) was named to the preseason all-conference squad. The Bucs were picked to finish fifth after earning the first at-large NCAA volleyball bid in league history last season.


ETSU Athletics announces partnership with bioPURE

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 6, 2019) -- bioPURE Services announced on Tuesday that East Tennessee State University Athletics recently became a bioPURE Certified TMathletic facility. This certification means that ETSU athletes will experience a higher level of clean and disinfection in high-use locations like the weight room and the various locker rooms throughout the athletic complex.
