JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 27, 2021) – The ETSU Volleyball team will conclude its 2021 Spring season on Sunday, March 28 and Monday, March 29 inside Brooks Gym vs the Chattanooga Mocs.
Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Mike Gallagher on the call.

A LOOK AT ETSU
ETSU is 5-9 entering the weekend. Most recently, ETSU suffered back-to-back three-set losses at Mercer.
The Bucs are hitting .174 this season and average 14.75 digs per set defensively. On the attacking end, the Bucs are led by Sanne Maring (Groningen, The Netherlands) who is hitting .264 and also leads the team with 0.82 blocks per set. The transfer middle blocker has 40 blocks, 32 coming as block assists. Freshman Jenna Forster (Maryville, Tenn.) has played a big role. She leads the team with 140 kills and averages 2.64 per set. She has tallied double-digit kills in the last four matches, seven of the last eight, and is tied for second on the team with 13 aces.
Defensively, sophomore libero, Sydney Cherney (Knoxville, Tenn.) has covered ground in the back row averaging 3.72 digs per set this season in 13 starts. Behind the service line, Sara Esposito (Venezia, Italy), leads the team with 17 aces, an average of 0.35 per set.
Quarterbacking the offense this season, Emily Arnold (Louisville, Ky.). She is averaging 10.06 assists per set this season and has eclipsed the 50-assist mark three times.
A LOOK AT CHATTANOOGA
UTC is 6-10 overall this season and is 4-10 in league play. The Mocs are hitting .168, while opponents are hitting under .200 against them at a .191 clip. The visitors are led by Mikaela Gauthereaux who is hitting .245 this season with 73 kills in 196 attempts. Outside hitter, Gylian Finch leads the team with 2.84 kills per set and 142 this season.
Defensively, the Mocs lead the conference with 18.24 digs/set; a mark which is good for 21st in all of Division I. Paige Gallentine leads the team in that category with 4.59 digs/set. The freshman libero is averaging 15.5 per match this season.
ETSU holds a 38-32 advantage over UTC in program history. The Bucs have won the last seven matches over the Mocs dating back to 2016. Additionally, ETSU is 19-10 against UTC in Johnson City.
