JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb 9, 2007) - The Lady Bucs will be looking to post their fifth weekend sweep in the Atlantic Sun when they play host to Campbell this Saturday inside Memorial Center. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
ETSU (13-9, 9-3) ended its two-game skid on Thursday by knocking off Gardner-Webb, 87-61, thanks to a total team effort by the Lady Bucs. Every Lady Buc player who dressed saw action, while five players reached double figures in the winning effort. Holly Moring (Irmo, S.C.) led the Lady Bucs in scoring for the first time this season with a 16-point performance and finished seven-of-eight from the field. The win moved ETSU to a perfect 10-0 when scoring 70+ points this season.
Campbell (5-17, 3-9) lost its fourth straight contest on Thursday night, falling to Kennesaw State 64-58. The Lady Camels was held scoreless for the final 4:28, and let Kennesaw State score the final six points to walk away with the victory. Adrienne Rieley led Campbell with a career-high 23 points and Marlena Murphy posted her 10th double-double of the season with 11 points and 16 rebounds.
The Lady Bucs lead the all-time series, 3-0, as ETSU defeated Campbell, 87-66, back on Jan. 11. Five ETSU players reached the double-figure mark as freshman Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) led the way with 20 points and seven rebounds, while junior Nichelle Akers (Sumter, S.C.) set a career-high with eight assists. The Lady Bucs out-rebounded the Lady Camels 40-32, and also hit 50 percent of their three-pointers, compared to only 11.1 percent by Campbell. Junior Michele DeVault is averaging 15.0 ppg in two career games against the Lady Camels.
