Tuesday, February 3, 2009

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 3, 2009) - The ETSU Cheerleading squad will conduct a special "Cheer Showcase" Thursday evening prior to the 7 p.m. Lady Buccaneer tip against Stetson inside Memorial Center.

The one-hour showcase begins at 6 p.m. and is open to all youth cheerleaders in the Tri-Cities area, as they will have the chance to meet the 2008-09 ETSU cheer team - who were voted the Highly Coveted Collegiate Squad at the UCA All-Cheer Collegiate Camp.

"We are very excited about hosting an event where young cheerleaders in the area can come and learn from their local championship collegiate cheer squad," commented head ETSU cheerleading coach Tammy Bartow, whose squad won First Place Sideline Category and Second Place Cheer Category at the UCA All-Cheer Collegiate Camp.

Those attending this showcase will have opportunity to learn new cheers, enjoy poster making, as well as receive free ETSU tattoos. In addition, the youth participants will get an exclusive autograph session with the 2008-09 ETSU cheerleading team.

Doors for this special event open at 5:45 p.m. and the youth cheerleaders are asked to wear their cheer uniforms so they can receive free admission to the Lady Buccaneer game.
