SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 26, 2019) -- The Southern Conference announced its academic honor roll for the 2018-19 academic year on Wednesday afternoon, including 228 ETSU student-athletes on the list.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 25, 2019) -- The Southern Conference announced its Academic All-Conference selections for the spring semester on Tuesday afternoon, as ETSU placed 56 student-athletes on the prestigious list.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 21, 2019) – East Tennessee State University women’s basketball head coach Brittney Ezell and her staff announced on Friday that 6-foot guard Jasmine Sanders has transferred to ETSU from Troy. Sanders will have to sit out the 2019-20 season due to NCAA transfer rules and will have two years of eligibility.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (March 7, 2019) – It was a tale of two halves for the ETSU women’s basketball team, as the Bucs squandered a 14-point lead in the first half. The Terriers scored 50 points in the second half to defeat the Bucs 75-66 on the opening day of the Southern Conference Tournament in the U.S. Cellular Center.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 21, 2019) – After falling behind by 14 in the second quarter, ETSU had a furious comeback, tying the game twice to send the Bucs to their second straight overtime game. Mercer would outscore ETSU 8-2 in overtime to come away with an 83-77 win.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 16, 2019) – The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame announced its 12 finalists for consideration for induction into its Hall of Fame. Former ETSU women’s basketball player Beth Bass, Class of 1984 was named one of the 12 finalists. The Class of 2019 will be selected from the 12 finalists and announced on ESPN2 during the February 4th Baylor at Texas game (7:00 p.m. ET).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 21, 2018) -- An upset-minded ETSU women’s basketball team (2-13) held their own early against the favored No. 9 Tennessee Lady Vols (9-1) in Knoxville Friday night, but would ultimately slip in the second half to fall, 80-61.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Dec. 16, 2018) -- The ETSU women’s basketball team faced another daunting task in Pittsburgh, Pa. against Duquesne Sunday afternoon, but came up just short in its quest for a road win with a 66-58 final.
PITTSBURG, Pa. (Dec. 15, 2018) – The ETSU women’s basketball team opens a two-game road swing, when the Buccaneers take on Atlantic 10 foe Duquesne on Sunday afternoon at the Palumbo Center. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 13, 2018) – Picking up their second win inside their home confines of Brooks Gym, the ETSU women’s basketball team held on to a 61-56 win over North Carolina A&T on Thursday night. The Bucs improve to 2-11, while the Aggies fall to 2-7.

VANCOUVER, BC (Nov. 22, 2018) – On the opening day of the 2018 Vancouver Showcase, the ETSU women’s basketball team (0-5) fell to the 2017 National Champion South Carolina (3-1), 101-55 inside the Vancouver Convention Center.
VANCOUVER, Canada. (Nov. 21, 2018) – For the first time, the ETSU women’s basketball team will play in front of the beautiful backdrop of Vancouver, British Columbia. The tournament will be played at the Vancouver Convention Centre Nov. 22-24, 2018.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 19, 2018) – The ETSU women’s basketball team had a sold out crowd in their home opener on Monday morning, filled with fans and local schools from the area. This was the largest crowd the Bucs have had since moving to Brooks Gym in the 2014-15 season. The Bucs (0-4) battled, but Troy (3-1) came away with an 84-66 win.

RADFORD, Va. (Nov. 15, 2018) – A strong start for ETSU women’s basketball would not last on the road, as the Buccaneers fell at Radford, 79-64, to end a rough three-game road swing.
RADFORD, Va. (Nov. 14 2018) – The ETSU women’s basketball team continues their three-game road stint when they take on the Radford Highlanders on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 11:00 a.m. Radford will host more than 3,000 elementary school children inside the Dedmon Center for their Education Day.
EAST LANSING, Mich. (Nov. 11, 2018) – In a battle that resulted in overtime last year, the Bucs were ready for revenge, outscoring the Spartans 18-14 in the first quarter. Michigan State would eventually take a 20-point lead to secure a 75-53 win at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich. The Buccaneers fall to 0-2, while the Spartans, a member of the Big Ten conference, improve to 2-0 in non-conference play.
CINCINNATI, Ohio (Nov. 9, 2018) – Despite leading the vast majority of the first 30 minutes of play and holding a 50-49 lead late in the third quarter, the ETSU women’s basketball team looked on as Cincinnati outscored them 28-14 for the remainder of the game to take a 77-64 win in non-conference action Friday night at Fifth Third Arena. In a battle of teams that reached the WNIT a year ago, the Buccaneers dropped their season-opening contest and fall to 0-1. Meanwhile, the Bearcats – who are members of the American Athletic Conference and won 19 games a year ago – improved to 2-0 and avenged a loss to these same Bucs in the 2017-18 season opener.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 23, 2018) – ETSU women’s basketball head coach Brittney Ezell released the team’s 2018-19 schedule on Thursday. The schedule features 30 total games, one tournament, and 13 home games to be played inside Brooks Gym.
VANCOUVER, B.C. (Aug. 16, 2018) –The 2018 Vancouver Showcase bracket has been announced and the ETSU Buccaneers will play South Carolina in the first round of the tournament. The game is set for Thursday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. ET. This will be the 13th all-time meeting against the Bucs and the Gamecocks.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (July 10, 2018) – The ETSU Department of Athletics turned in a record-breaking academic year in 2017-18, as the Southern Conference announced its Honor Roll list Tuesday afternoon.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 1, 2018) – ETSU women’s basketball head coach Brittney Ezell announced on Sunday, that Kelly Mathis has joined the Buccaneers’ staff as an assistant coach. She previously spent two seasons at Georgia State as an assistant coach and has worked at Georgia, Florida State, and Washington & Lee.
