ETSU Stronger Together Shirts Available to Support Bucs Help Bucs Initiative

All proceeds will benefit the “Bucs Help Bucs” Initiative

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 30, 2020) -- Earlier this month, East Tennessee State University launched the “Bucs Help Bucs” initiative to help serve the Appalachian Highlands and support the ETSU family during these challenging times.

On Thursday, the ETSU Athletics Department announced a way to help contribute to the initiative, by unveiling a limited edition “Stronger Together” shirt.

“We are very excited to help play a part in the Bucs Help Bucs initiative by creating these Stronger Together shirts,” said ETSU Athletic Director Scott Carter. “All of the proceeds will go towards helping our ETSU students, faculty and staff who have been significantly impacted by COVID-19. We encourage those who can to purchase a shirt and hope to see everyone wearing  them proudly throughout our region.”

The “Stronger Together” shirts – featuring the Freedom E logo – are available onlinefor $20 until May 14. All of the proceeds will benefit the “Bucs Help Bucs” program, which provides relief to:  

Student/Staff Emergency Funds –Serves all ETSU students and staff by providing financial assistance to those who experience an unexpected loss or hardship affecting their ability to remain at ETSU.  The funds may assist with travel, housing needs, food insecurity and other issues as determined by the ETSU CARE Team (for students) and the director of Human Resources (for staff).

Bucky’s Food Pantry– Provides food and basic needs for those facing food insecurity and hunger on the ETSU campus.

ETSU Counseling Center– Provides a variety of services, including 24-hour counseling (in-person or electronic), access to psychiatric services, and tools and resources to help students return to school.

Other– Support any specific area of ETSU.
