Women's Golf Finishes Fourth in Southern Conference Championships After Cancellation of Final Round

P>Johnson City, Tenn.-- East Tennessee State junior Catalina Zuluaga shot a second-round 80 to finish in a tie for fifth place (79-80=159) and lead the Buccaneer women’s golf to a fourth-place finish in the Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championships in Boone, N.C.

The third and final round of the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.

East Tennessee State shot a second-round 343, and is currently 51 shots behind team leader, Furman.

Zuluaga finished in a three-way tie, ten shots back of individual leader, Jennifer Perri of Furman. Junior Mimmie Dymling was the next Buccaneer finisher, tying for 10th after the second round at 17-over par (77-84=161). Freshman Kristen Fletcher finished the first round in a tie for 29th (88-90=178) after shooting a second-round 90. Fellow freshman Lauren Rice is also tied for 29th after firing her second consecutive 89. Sophomore Susan McKinney is the third Buccaneer tied for 29th (84-94=178), after firing a second-round 94.

This concludes the season for the Buccaneer women's golf team.
