Lady Bucs open spring schedule at Chrysler Challenge

DESTIN, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2007) - After a successful fall schedule, the ETSU women's golf team returned to action in its first spring tournament of the year Saturday at the Chrysler Challenge hosted by Florida State.

 

The Lady Bucs struggled on the first day of the event, firing a team score of 335 and finishing 10th on the leaderboard at the Baytowne Golf Course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Freshman Laura Jansone (Jurmala, Latvia) was the top ETSU finisher on the individual leaderboard, ending the round tied for 21st, seven strokes back individual leader Lacey Agnew of Florida State. On the team leaderboard, host Florida State currently leads with a score of 303.

 

Other ETSU results of note included a tie for 25th by junior Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Colombia) and freshman Sarah Jane Sinard (White Pine), and a tie for 38th for junior Maria Ringdahl (Oland, Sweden).
