GREENVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2008) - Junior Kennie Leigh Eisenhower (Newport) fired a team-best 74 to lead the ETSU women's golf team during Monday's second round play in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina University at the Greenville Country Club.
As a team, the Buccaneers are currently eighth on the team leaderboard, while Georgia State leads by 13 strokes over second place East Carolina. On the individual leaderboard, East Carolina's Abby Bools holds a slight lead over a pair of Georgia State players, with a one stroke advantage over Iliska Verwey and a two-stroke edge over Sandra Maier.
"I don't think we've really found our confidence yet," said ETSU head coach Stefanie Shelton. "We're just going through the motions and we're missing that spark. We know it will show up eventually, because we've got the team to do it."
While Eisenhower had the best round of the day, juniors Laura Jansone (Jurmala, Latvia) and Sinead O'Sullivan (Galway, Ireland) are currently the top ETSU performers after two rounds, with both players tied for 33rd. Senior Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) is tied for 48th, while Eisenhower is tied for 61st.
Third and final round action will finish on Tuesday with live stats available at Golf stat.com, while a full wrap up of the day's play will be available at ETSUBucs.com.
