Dobele leads the way with even-par round of 72, Dunn still posting best overall score for Bucs and currently tied for 27th

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Oct. 27, 2014) – Sophomore Linda Dobele (Ogre, Latvia) carded a team-best round of even-par 72 and the ETSU women’s golf team improved on their first round score by six strokes to move up three spots on the team leaderboard during second round play Monday in the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Turtle Point Golf Course.

While Dobele’s efforts helped her move into a tie for 32nd on the individual leaderboard, ETSU true freshman Allyson Dunn (Kingsport) continues to pace the Buccaneers by finishing tied for 27th after rounds of 76 and 74 during the first two days of play.

As a team, the Bucs are tied for 10th after having posted rounds of 305 and 299.

Coastal Carolina currently leads the event by 12 strokes over 25th-ranked GRU Augusta, as the Chanticleers have posted an impressive team-score of 4-under-par 572 to this point. Individually, College of Charleston’s CC Buford finished the day at 5-under-par 139 to take the top spot, while the Coastal Carolina duo of Malene Krolboll Hansen and Lena Schaeffner are two strokes back at 3-under for the event.

Along with Dobele, junior Vivienne Chin (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia) is also tied for 32nd after a round of 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday. Other ETSU results include a tie for 52nd by freshman Dominika Czudkova (Cesky Tesin, Czech Republic) and a tie for 64th by sophomore Rachel Pollock (Guelph, Ontario, Canada).
