OXFORD, Miss. (April 4, 2015) – Sophomore Linda Dobele (Ogre, Latvia) fired a team-best round of 1-over-par 73, helping the ETSU women’s golf team move up three spots on the team leaderboard during Saturday’s second round in the Rebel Intercollegiate at the Ole Miss Golf Course.

Following Saturday’s play, Dobele and junior Vivienne Chin (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia) are both tied for 23rd on the individual leadboard. Chin posted a 4-over-par 76 in the second round after carding a team-best round of even-par 72 in Friday’s first round. As a team, the Bucs are now tied for ninth in the 18-team tournament, a field that includes five programs ranked in the Top 40 nationally.

“It felt good today to be on the course; the weather was nice and my mind was clear,” Dobele said. “I like this golf course, and the greens are in very good condition. Coach has been giving us a lot of advice on our mental game and it helped me in certain situations today. I’m looking forward to going out there tomorrow and enjoying it again.”

On the team leaderboard, No. 19 Texas A&M continues to lead No. 10 Tennessee by three strokes for the top spot in the team standings, while Kent State’s Josee Doyon holds the top individual position by just one stroke over Texas A&M’s  Andrea Jonama.

Other ETSU results on Saturday included a 3-over-par 75 by redshirt freshman Dominika Czudkova (Cesky Tesin, Czech Republic), who is currently tied for 33rd. In addition, sophomore Rachel Pollock (Guelpe, Ontario, Canada) posted a 77 and is tied for 64th.
