AUGUSTA, Ga. (March 17, 2018) – The ETSU womens golf team ended at 10th place, and Hee Ying Loy (Johor, Malaysia) claimed 8th on the individual leaderboard, after the 3rd and final round of the 3M Augusta Invitational on Sunday.
The Bucs posted a team total of 303 on Sunday to finish at 909 for the weekend. Loy fired an even-par 72 to finish the tournament at 1-under 215 on a sunny, 76-degree day at the 6228-yard Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Loy started on the back nine and was 2-under at the turn after birdies on the par-4 10th and the par-5 17th. The junior bogeyed four of the first five holes after the turn before getting back to even for the day with birdies at the par-5 4th and the par-4 3rd.
Loy led the tournament in par-5 scoring, with an average of 4.42 and an aggregate score of 7-under par. Her 14 birdies tied her for 2nd. Sunday marked Loy’s 5th straight top-ten finish and the 13th top-ten of her 26 career tournaments.
Kornbongkoat Sararat (Nongkhai, Thailand) parred each of the front nine holes on the way to a 76. Her three-day total of 230 tied her for 48th on the leaderboard. She tied for 10th in par-3 scoring (3.08/+1).
Ankita Kedlaya (Bangalore, India) carded her second straight 76, putting her at 233 for the weekend and in a tie for 57th. She and Sararat each posted 35 pars for the weekend to wind up tied for 17th out of 87 players in that category.
Tereza Melecka (Belcovice, Czech Republic) posted an 80 on Sunday, leaving her at 232 for the event and tied for 54th. Yeji Ahn (Chang Won City, South Korea) went just 1-over on her last nine holes to shoot a 79. It was her best round of the weekend and placed her in 80th.
The Bucs as a team tied for 5th out of 15 teams in par-3 scoring (3.28/+17).
