Junior all-SoCon standout is two shots off the lead heading into final round

WOLCOTT, Colo. (Sept. 24, 2019) -- ETSU’s Tereza Melecka (Belcovice, Czech Republic) remains in contention following 36 holes at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.

For the second straight tournament, Melecka will enter the final round with a chance to collect her second collegiate win after registering a score below par for the second consecutive day at the Red Sky Golf Club.

On Tuesday, Melecka carded a 1-under 71 and sits tied for third-place at 6-under-par 138 for the tournament, which is only two shots off the lead. Melecka, who has totaled 22 pars and 10 birdies over the first two days, has combined to play the par-4 and par-5 holes at seven-under-par. Over a six-hole stretch on Tuesday, Melecka posted four birdies – giving her the lead at seven-under – however, she dropped a stroke with a bogey on the par-3, No. 7 to finish the round with a 71.

Ole Miss’ Andrea Lignell birdied her final hole to take the outright lead at 8-under-par 136. Lignell holds a one-stroke advantage over Denver’s Anna Zanusso, while Melecka is one of four golfers tied for third.

As a team, Ole Miss went low to grab a commanding 12-shot lead over tournament host and No. 21  Denver. The 25th-ranked Rebels fired an 8-under 280 on Tuesday and enter Wednesday’s final round at 15-under-par 561.
