Thunderstorms and unplayable conditions postpone start of regional for second straight day

BATON ROUGE, La. (May 11, 2021) – Mother Nature continued raining on the Baton Rouge Regional Tuesday.

For the second straight day, the ETSU women’s golf team had its start of postseason play delayed, as inclement weather resulted in unplayable conditions on Tuesday from the University Club in Baton Rouge, La.

The teams were scheduled to play 36 holes on Tuesday, but now the 18 teams and six individual golfers will try to play 18 holes in a weather-shortened regional on Wednesday. Wednesday’s round is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET.

Should the teams get the round in, the top six teams and three individuals from a non-advancing team will move on to the NCAA Championship, which will be held May 21-26 in Scottsdale, Ariz. However, if the teams can’t play on Wednesday, then the top six seeds will  advance to thee National Championship. The top six seeds include LSU, Ole Miss, Baylor, Oregon, Maryland and Alabama.

Live scoring for the tournament will be featured on

Updates will also be posted on Twitter at @ETSUWomensGolf, while recaps will be posted on at the conclusion of each day.
