CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Mar. 27, 2022) – The ETSU women’s golf team ends the first day of the Chattanooga Classic tied for 16th place.
Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium) leads the Blue & Gold after the first 18 holes. Bert ends the day even-with-par (72). Bert achieved this after carding three birdies on holes two, five, and seven, along with one bogey on hole 13 and one double-bogey on hole ten. Bert goes into round two tied for sixth place.
Grace Chin (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) was the only other Buc to end the first round in the Top-50. Chin ends the day tied for 35th place after carding three bogeys on holes three, four, and seven, along with a birdie on hole 12 and one double-bogey on hole 16.
North Florida leads the Chattanooga Classic after ending today’s 18, six-over-par (294). North Florida is followed by; Yale at eight-over-par (296), and UTSA with nine-over-par (297).
Ana Gonzalez of UTSA, Julie Boysen Hillestad of East Carolina, and Esme Hamilton of Chattanooga tied for first place in the player leaderboard after carding two-under-par (70).
ETSU takes the course with Murray State and James Madison tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. for day two of the Chattanooga Classic. Fans are encouraged to follow along as live stats will be provided by Golfstat.
