EATONTON, Ga. (Feb. 18, 2023) – The ETSU women’s golf team wrapped up the final day of competition in their inaugural spring tournament — the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite in Eatonton, Ga. — tying for fourth place as a team.
Among the 12 schools entered in the tournament, the Bucs started in fifth heading into day three of the competition. Like yesterday, the Bucs once again showed improvement from round to round, dropping two strokes and finishing with an 8-over-par 296 team score — leapfrogging Indiana and East Carolina to finish tied fourth with Mercer.
Senior Hollie Muse (Liverpool, England) jumped 11 spots up the leaderboard, finishing T-15 with teammate Amber Thornton (Canberra, Australia), along with Carol Pyon of Mercer and Valerie Clancy of Indiana, all finishing the tournament with a 9-over-par 225 score. On the day, Muse shot an even-par 72, with Thornton just two strokes behind at 2-over-par 74.
Placing next for the Bucs was Alex Crafton (Lake Mary, Fla.). Crafton, who led the Bucs heading into the final day of the competition, shot a 5 over-par 77 in the final round to finish one stroke behind her teammates with a tournament score of 10-over par 226, placing 19th.
Madeline Simcox (Bristol, Tenn.) and ETSU’s individual player Charlotte Roodenburg both placed T-41, shooting 7-over par 79 on the round, and 18-over par 234 for the tournament.
The next time the Bucs take the course will be March 13-14 when they head to Wallace, N.C for the River Landing Classic hosted by UNC Wilmington.
