ETSU women’s golf to play in Chattanooga Classic

Tournament held at Council Fire Golf Club Sunday-Tuesday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 1, 2023) – The ETSU women’s golf team gears up for its final tournament before the Southern Conference Championship as the Buccaneers head to the Scenic City for the Chattanooga Classic, which gets underway Sunday from Council Fire Golf Club. 

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

  • This marks the fourth edition of the Chattanooga Classic, which will be played at Council Fire Golf Club.
  • The teams will play 18 holes each day with the final round being contested on Tuesday.
  • This is an 18-team, 96-player field. Teams will play in groups of three on days one and two with foursomes for the final 18 on Tuesday.
  • Teams will tee off from holes No. 1 and No. 10 starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday and Monday, while a 9 a.m. shotgun start will be used in Tuesday’s final round.
  • ETSU swept the titles in 2021 as the Bucs finished with a team score of 23-over-par 887, while Tereza Melecka earned medalist honors with a score of 4-under-par 212.
  • Joining the Bucs and Mocs in this year’s field include: Augusta, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Grand Canyon, Indiana, Jacksonville, MTSU, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, South Florida, SMU, UTSA, Xavier and Yale.
  • Eleven teams are ranked in the top-100 of the Golfstat Rankings.
  • UTSA is the reigning team champion.
