Bucs conclude second round play at SoCon Championship

HILTON HEAD, S.C. (April 17, 2023) – The ETSU women’s golf team concluded second round play at the Southern Conference Championship on Monday from Moss Creek South Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. 

Hollie Muse (Liverpool, England) and Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium) both remain in the top-10, but the Buccaneers dropped into fourth-place on the team leaderboard. Muse and Bert are both tied for sixth at 8-over-par 152. 

Furman’s Anna Morgan still sits atop the individual leaderboard as she went low on Monday with a 4-under 68 and is 6-under-par 138 through 36 holes. Western Carolina’s Madison Isaacson is in second at 1-under-par 143, while Mercer’s Kate Song posted a 3-under 69 in round two en route to moving into third-place at 1-over-par 145. 

Furman remains the team leader as the Paladins are at 14-over-par 590 and lead Mercer by 15 shots. Western Carolina (+30) is in third and the Bucs are fourth at 38-over-par 614. For the second straight day, ETSU shot 19-over 307. 

ETSU’s low score on Monday came from Amber Thornton (Canberra, Australia) as she finished with a 4-over 76 and is tied for 13th at 11-over-par 155. 

Tuesday marks the final round of the tournament with ETSU being grouped with Wofford and Samford. The Bucs go out starting at 8:30 a.m.
