HILTON HEAD, S.C. (April 18, 2023) – Playing in her final Southern Conference Championship, ETSU senior Hollie Muse (Liverpool, England) finished fifth overall as final round play concluded on Tuesday at Moss Creek South Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
Muse was a solo fifth-place finisher as she totaled a 54-hole score of 11-over-par 227 (75-77-75), marking her second straight top-five finish at the conference championship. For the tournament, Muse led the Bucs with seven birdies and had the sixth-lowest scoring average on the par-4s (4.27).
Furman’s Anna Morgan, the lone individual in the field to finish below par, earned medalist honors after posting a 54-hole score of 2-under-par 214.
Furman swept both titles as the Paladins won the team event after finishing 30-over-par 894. The Paladins won by 19 strokes over Mercer and 32 shots over Western Carolina.
The Bucs finished fourth at 70-over-par 934. ETSU led the field in par-3 scoring (+7) and had the second-most birdies in the field with 27.
Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium) posted a top-20 finish as she tied for 18th at 19-over-par 235. Bert led the field in par-3 scoring (-2), while teammate Alex Crafton (Lake Mary, Fla.) was second in par-3 scoring average (2.92). Crafton finished tied for 24th at 21-over-par 237.
