VERONA, Wis. (Sept. 18, 2023) – The ETSU women’s golf team completed day two of the Badger Invitational on Monday from University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Wis.
Sophomore Madeline Simcox (Bristol, Tenn.) led the Blue & Gold in round two as she carded an even-par 72. Simcox jumped 29 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 57th (+10). Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium) shot a 3-over 75 on Monday and dropped into a tie for 20th at 2-over-par 146.
University of Texas at San Antonio’s Camryn Carreon continues to hold the individual lead at 7-under-par 137 after posting a 3-under 69 in round two. Indiana’s Chloe Johnson is in second-place and two shots off the lead at 5-under-par 139 and New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch went low on Monday to climb near the top of the leaderboard. Bunch fired a 6-under 66 to jump 27 spots up the board as she is now 3-under-par 141 for the tournament.
South Florida moved into the team lead following a 4-under 284 on Monday. The Bulls are 1-over-par 577 through the first two rounds and take a one-shot lead into Tuesday’s finale. Delaware, who posted a 2-under 286 in round two, is sitting in second-place at 2-over-par 578, while host Wisconsin dropped into third-place at 7-over-par 583.
The Bucs shaved nine strokes off their team total from Sunday as ETSU recorded an 11-over 299 on Monday. Through the first two rounds, the Blue & Gold are at 31-over-par 607.
