East Tennessee State junior midfielder Kristin Redfern tallied both Buccaneer goals of the match as ETSU defeated Tennessee-Martin 2-1.
With the win, the Buccaneers (5-3, 0-2) run their winning streak to three games. Their five wins on the year tie the school record for most wins in a single season.
Redfern scored both of her goals early in the first half. Her first tally came eleven minutes into the match, where Redfern scored with a straight away shot from the center. Six minutes later Redfern scored her second goal off of a rebound from UT Martin goalkeeper Paige Robinson.
The Bucceneer defense played one of their best games of the season, allowing just three shots to get to goalkeeper Lauren Fannon. In contrast, ETSU had 15 shots on goal in the contest.
UT Martin's (0-9) only goal of the match came when Sherrie Weeks took a corner kick and put it in the back of the net with 20 minutes remaining.
The Buccaneers continue on the road tomorrow as they face Murray State at 2:00.
